MEDFORD – The Rogue Community College Ospreys women’s soccer team collected a 2-0 victory at home Wednesday, Oct. 18, against Southwestern Oregon Community College. The Ospreys completed the 2-0 shutout behind two goals from Haley Janky and six saves from goalkeeper Lilly Barrett.
The Ospreys (3-6-2, 3-4-2 NWAC) came out hard against SWOCC (4-7-2, 3-6-1) looking to keep the winning momentum going and continue the push toward playoffs. During the 8th minute, Haley Janky took control of the ball just outside the box and found the back of the net to put the Ospreys up 1-0.
Heading in the second half, the Ospreys looked to secure their victory. In the 59th minute, Logan Billy drove down the left side of the field and crossed it to Janky who was set up in the middle of the box and connected for her second goal of the match, putting the Ospreys up 2-0. The Ospreys defense held strong behind six saves from Lilly Barrett, who collected her fourth clean sheet of the season.

The Ospreys continue their playoff hunt Saturday, Oct. 21, when they face Clackamas Community College (8-3-2, 6-2-2) at 2:00 at U.S. Cellular Community Park field 14. The Ospreys currently sit in 4th place of the NWAC South Division with 11 points.
