Medford – Rogue Community College Ospreys and former North Medford Black Tornado star Haley Janky has committed to Oregon Tech’s women’s soccer program for the fall 2018 season.
Following a high school playing career at North Medford, Janky committed to joining an Ospreys program that was beginning its second year of Northwest Athletic Conference play. In her two years, Janky started every game, earned both All-Region and All-Star honors, carried a full course load, maintained a 3.6 GPA. She will graduate this spring with her associate degree.
Janky is the first Ospreys soccer athlete to move forward and commit to playing in a four-year program. Oregon Tech competes at the NAIA level in the Cascade Conference. “Haley has been a model student athlete during her time at Rogue. Her hard work and dedication has paved the way for future women’s soccer players and all future Ospreys athletes,” said Athletic Director Darren Van Lehn.
Head coach Rusty Veth is looking to build on the program's recent successes by working to bring back 10 freshmen last this year’s squad, and has begun the 2018 recruiting class with five players already committed. The fall 2018 season begins in early September.
