Head Coach Cole Watson didn’t feel that the men’s team had their best race, as it may have had to do where the race fell on block of training they are currently engaged in.
“I may have let them taper a little too much a get soft. Regardless, we won't change our goals; we'll make some adjustments, but stay true to what we do,” Coach Watson stated. “This is just one race in the grand scheme of it all and does not define our season or our potential to do really well come conference. We still got 6th amongst junior colleges and we held out one of our top runners for strategic purposes, so I feel like we're still in a good place.” Watson added, “The women on the other hand, ran excellent and executed their race plans really well. Mallory had a personal best by over a minute. Alex had a personal best for 5k cross-country by about 40 seconds. They both looked really strong over halfway through their race.”
The Ospreys cross country teams are back in action Saturday, October 15, at the Lewis and Clark Invite in Estacada, Oregon.
The Rogue Community College men’s soccer team (3-3-1) (5-4-1) dropped a match on the road Saturday afternoon, but avoided the shutout against the Clark College Penguins (4-3-0) (4-6-1) by scoring late in the second half to make it 4-1. The Penguin’s David Joyce produced a hat trick in the first half collecting three unanswered goals in the first 25 minutes of the game.
