The Rogue Community College men’s soccer team was shutout Saturday afternoon 2-0 as they visited their closest foe to the north, Lane Community College (4-5-0) (6-5-0). Rogue (4-4-1) (6-5-1) was looking for a win on the road to stay in playoff contention as regular season play winds up at the end of October. Lane scored their two goals in the first half with a shot by Rafael Jimenez in the 14th minute, and a goal by Kyle Smith in the 31st minute.
Ospreys goalie Beto Estrada held the Titans to just the two goals as he collected 4 saves in the net to keep it close. Four yellow cards were issued: Boozer (LCC), Juan Salgado (LCC), Fernando Gutierrez (RCC), and Jorge Pinon (RCC).
Both the men and women Ospreys will be home this weekend as they hit their home pitch at U.S. Cellular Community Pary in Medford on Saturday afternoon. The RCC women (3-3-1) (3-5-1) will face Portland Community College (1-7-2) (1-6-0) at 1 p.m. and the men will play PCC (5-1-3) (5-3-4) at 3 p.m.
