Ospreys Collect Post-Season Honors

MEDFORD – The Rogue Community College (RCC) Ospreys men’s and women’s soccer programs collected post-season honors from the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) this past week. Awards for All-Stars, All-Region, and All-Academic were handed out and the Ospreys had eight different athletes honored.

All-Stars:
Logan Billy and Mauricio Sanchez were selected as All-Stars. Both are sophomores in the Ospreys program and looking to transfer on and continue playing. This was Logan’s first All-Star appearance and the second for Mauricio.

All-Region:
Five Ospreys were named to the All-Region team. For women’s soccer it was Lara Nuttall, McKenna Frison, and Melissa Tonkin. All three are sophomores and looking to transfer on. It is the first All-Region honor for both McKenna and Melissa and the second honor for Lara. For the Ospreys men Ramiro Alvarado and Abraham Sigala were selected for the All-Region team. It is the first All-Region honor for Ramiro and the second for Abraham.

All-Academic:
Two sophomores were honored for their success in the classroom. McKenna Frison and Enrique Gonzalez-Diaz. Qualifications for recognition are to be a sophomore in eligibility, have a minimum of 36 credits earned, and a 3.25 cumulative GPA.  

The Ospreys teams move into the offseason each with a large group of freshman looking to earn their own academic awards and continuing honing their soccer skills to prepare for next season.
