MEDFORD — The Rogue Community College Ospreys women’s and men’s soccer teams were in action on Wednesday, Sept. 25. The women were on the road at Clackamas and won 1-0. The men hosted Southwestern Oregon and drew 1-1.
Women’s Soccer:
The Ospreys (2-5-2. 2-1-1 NWAC) were on the road against Clackamas (0-5-1, 0-3-1 NWAC) looking for a road win. Theys took the advantage early when Taylor Marshall put in a goal in the 10th minute that would end up being the deciding goal. The Ospreys ended the day with a 1-0 win. There was one yellow card for the Ospreys: Stephanie Roe in the 49th minute.
Men’s Soccer:
The Ospreys (3-3-3, 1-2-1 NWAC) were hosting the first-place Southwestern Oregon Lakers (2-4-1, 2-1-1 NWAC). History has shown the matches will be physical and this one was no different. The first half went scoreless as both sides attacked but could not find the net. Southwestern got a penalty kick in the 51st minute to go up 1-0. The Ospreys equalized in the 69th minute when Luis Cerna played it back across to Jhoel Sarraude who found the net. The match ended with a 1-1 tie. There was one yellow card for the Ospreys: Omar Hernandez in the 58th minute.
Women’s soccer plays on the road this Saturday, Sept. 28 at noon against Chemeketa (0-6-1, 0-3-1 NWAC). Men’s soccer has a bye this weekend and will be in action on the road against Portland (1-3-2, 0-2-1 NWAC) Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 4:30 p.m.
