MEDFORD — The Rogue Community College Ospreys volleyball team enjoyed a 3-1 win on the road against a well-prepared Umpqua squad on Friday, Oct. 11.
The Ospreys (19-1, 8-0 NWAC) faced tough competition for the first two sets as Umpqua (16-11, 2-4 NWAC) played them close, with each team winning a round 25-23. The Ospreys found their form in the third set and took the final two (25-13, 25-17) to complete the match 3-1.
The Ospreys were led by Violett Togagae who had 21 kills, 16 digs and two blocks and Olivia Wallace who had four kills, 27 assists and 13 digs. As usual there was plenty of support across the roster with 53 total kills, 51 assists, 88 digs and nine blocks.
The Ospreys remain in first place in the South Region at 8-0 and 19-1 overall. They will be on the road for their next two matches: Friday, Oct. 18 at Mt. Hood (11-10, 3-5 NWAC) and Saturday, Oct. 19 at Clark (10-15, 1-7 NWAC).
