MEDFORD — The Rogue Community College Ospreys women’s and men’s soccer teams each played to a draw on Wednesday, Oct. 23. The women finished 0-0 at home against Chemeketa while the men also finished scoreless at Southwestern Oregon.
Women’s Soccer:
The Ospreys women (5-6-5, 5-2-4 NWAC) hosted Chemeketa (1-11-2, 1-8-2 NWAC) looking to lock in a playoff spot with a win. They would not find it as the two teams battled all match but ultimately finished with a 0-0 draw. Faith Aurello received a yellow card and goalkeeper Alycea Jones had five saves on the day.
Men’s Soccer:
The Ospreys men (4-6-4, 2-5-2 NWAC) needed a win on the road at Southwestern Oregon (3-5-4, 3-2-4 NWAC) to stay alive in the playoff hunt. They played a great match but ultimately finished with a 0-0 draw ending their chance to make the playoffs. The Ospreys received three yellow cards: Josue Reyes, Parker Lauffenburger and Jonathan Tovar.
The Ospreys women and men play at home Saturday, Oct. 26 in back-to-back games against Portland Community College. The women will need to win or tie to make playoffs. It will be the final game of the season for the men.
