Ospreys Volleyball Splits, Advances in NWAC Championships

TACOMA, WA — The Rogue Community College Ospreys volleyball team lost its first match of the day Friday, Nov. 22, but rebounded to win a second match to advance in the NWAC Volleyball Championships.

The Ospreys (28-4, 14-2 NWAC) came out hot against Treasure Valley (23-14, 11-5 NWAC), dominating the first set only to fall in the next three to lose 3-1.

The tournament is double elimination, so the Ospreys next squared off against Linn-Benton (28-12, 13-3 NWAC) in an elimination game. They lost a close first set then controlled the final two to win the best-of-three match 2-1, earning the opportunity to advance to Saturday.

The Ospreys will play Bellevue (26-12, 8-4 NWAC) at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23. They will need to win four best-of-three matches to make the championship match that takes place Sunday, Nov. 24.
