Ospreys Volleyball Battles to Victory in Return to Action

GRANTS PASS – The Rogue Community College Ospreys Volleyball team was back in action Wednesday May 5th on the road against Clackamas Community College after a two week pause due to COVID protocols. They fell behind early and battled back and forth with a tough Clackamas team to take the 3-2 (23-25, 25-21, 26-28, 25-18, 15-5) victory.

The Ospreys (7-2) faced stiff competition on the road against Clackamas (4-7) in their return to action. They went back and forth in the first set only to fall behind late and drop the set 23-25. The second set looked much like the first but this time the Ospreys were in control and they won 25-21.

The third set started off promising with a 20-12 lead only to see Clackamas fight their way back into the set and force an extend match that they would win 28-26. The Ospreys found themselves in the break between the 3rd and 4th sets finding themselves once again up 20-12 only to close it out and win 25-18. In the fifth set they started hot and never looked back taking set 15-5 and the match 3-2.

The Ospreys sit in 2nd place in the South Region of the NWAC. They will host Clackamas in Friday May 7th in Grants Pass at 6pm in their next match. Next week they face Linn-Benton (6-2) in a home and away to close out the season.
