GRANTS PASS – The Rogue Community College Ospreys Volleyball team was hosting Clackamas Community College on Friday May 7th. After a tough battle that went the distance Wednesday the Ospreys returned to form to win in straight sets 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-22).
The Ospreys (8-2) looked to start strong against Clackamas (4-8) after falling behind earlier in the week. They just did that as they jumped out to a lead and held onto it throughout the first set. They would win 25-20.
The second set was a closer match as the Clackamas defense kicked in. They held it tight but the Ospreys stayed in front to close out the set 25-22. The final set saw Clackamas put up a fight as they took the lead late in the set only to see the Ospreys fight back into a tie and pull into a lead that would carry them to the 25-22 win and 3-0 in the match.
The Ospreys will be on the road next week against Linn-Benton Community College (8-4) in their final home and away series of the regular season. They will play Wednesday May 12th at 6pm. The Ospreys are back into second place in the NWAC South Region standings and can secure a second place finish by winning at least one game next week.
