Ospreys Volleyball Falls 3-1 on the Road

GRANTS PASS – The Rogue Community College Ospreys Volleyball team was on the road against Linn-Benton Community College Wednesday May 12th. The Ospreys found themselves in a come-from-behind battle all night long. It proved too much as they would lose 3-1 (17-25, 25-23, 20-25, 22-25).

The Ospreys (8-3) first set against Linn-Benton (9-4) set the theme of the night. They fell behind early and attempted to play catch up only to lose 17-25. In the second set it was a close battle and came down to a long 23-23 rally for the 24th point that the Ospreys won. It would carry them to the 25-23 win and tie the match 1-1.

In the third set the Ospreys fell behind big early, fought back to make it close, but ultimately fell 20-25. The final set of the night was a point-for-point battle up until the end when Linn-Benton went on a small run and won the set 25-22 and the match 3-1.

The Ospreys host Linn-Benton Friday May 14th at 4pm in the final game of the regular season. If they win they will enter the playoffs with a number two seed, if they lose they will drop to the number 3 seed. Either result will see the Ospreys host a match in the first round Tuesday May 18th at 6pm.
