GRANTS PASS – The Rogue Community College Ospreys Volleyball team was on the road in Albany at a neutral site taking on Bellevue College. The Ospreys found themselves in a battle with Bellevue. Falling behind in sets before charging back to falling behind in the fifth and charging back for the win. They relied on their ability to keep the ball in play and attack from anywhere on the court to stay alive and win 3-2 (20-25, 25-22, 25-22, 19-25, 15-13).
The Ospreys (2-0) came out a little flat against Bellevue (3-2) on a short timeline for their road trip. They fought hard but fell 20-25. They started to find their groove in the second set and jumped out in front only to see Bellevue charge back. They would hold them off in both sets 25-22 to go up 2-1 in the match heading into the fourth.
The fourth set saw Bellevue find control once again as they held the lead and won 25-19. Bellevue started off strong in the fifth set up by 4 at one point only to see the Ospreys dig balls and stay alive to tie it at 12 and win 15-13 and 3-2 in the match.
The Ospreys were led by Devin Ireland with 30 assists and 10 digs, Amanda Klotz with 13 Kills, Catherine Rostel with 12 Kills, Tessa Frodge with 10 Kills, and Jeanie Palsis with 13 digs.
The Ospreys have a quick turnaround as they host College of the Redwoods tomorrow night, Tuesday August 31st at 5:00pm in a non-conference matchup. The Ospreys sit in first place in the NWAC South Region.
