Ospreys Go 3-1 at NWAC Volleyball Crossover

GRANTS PASS – The Rogue Community College Ospreys Volleyball team was on the road in Tacoma WA for the NWAC Crossover hosted by Pierce College September 10th and 11th. A group play tournament that saw the Ospreys go 3-0 only to fall to Whatcom and finish 3-1 overall.

The Ospreys (9-3, 1-0) were up against Shoreline (3-5) first on Friday September 10th. They were rusty through the first two sets and found their groove in the 3rd to win 3-0. They were led by Amanda Klotz and Tessa Frodge with 8 kills each, Devin Ireland with 24 assists, and Jeanie Palsis with 11 digs and 6 aces.

They faced Green River College (0-3) later in the evening and would cruise to a 3-0 win behind Catherine Rostel with 8 kills, Amanda Klotz with 7, and Kyrah Christensen with 6. Devin Ireland would pick up 27 assists with Tessa Frodge and Kylie Anderson digging 7 balls apiece.

Saturday September 11th would bring North Idaho College (3-4) who would bring some offensive power but the Ospreys would overcome them and win the match 3-1. They would sweep the group play and be matched up against Whatcom College (10-3) who finished second in the opposing group. Whatcom would come out of their previous match fired up and would overwhelm the Ospreys who lost 3-0.

The Ospreys will be home for their next two matches when they host Mt. Hood Community College (1-0) on Friday September 17th at 6:30pm and Clark College (3-6) Saturday September 18th at 1:00pm.
