GRANTS PASS – The Rogue Community College Ospreys Men’s Soccer team was on the road in Salem taking Chemeketa Community College on Wednesday September 15th. The Ospreys came out with their strong defensive stance, possession based play, and held strong until Randy Rodriguez put two into the net to win 2-0 and keep the Ospreys undefeated.
The first have was a back-and-forth contest for the Ospreys (4-0, 2-0) as they faced a talented mix of players on the Chemeketa (3-3, 2-1) squad. Each side tested the opponent’s defense, looked for opportunities, with both sides coming up empty. They would go into the half 0-0.
In the second half the Ospreys would work their way into their offensive attack. Rosendo Juarez Flores picked up his 7th assist of the year when he crossed the ball from the left side to a streaking Randy Rodriguez who would find the back of the net in the 65th minute to go up 1-0. Ten minutes later, in the 75th minute, Rodriguez would collect a ball off the crossbar from Jhoel Sarraude and put it into the goal to go up 2-0. The Ospreys would close out the match to remain undefeated on the year.
