GRANTS PASS – The Rogue Community College Ospreys Men’s Soccer team was on the road against Lane Community College on Saturday October 9th. The Ospreys would give one up early only to equalize before the half and Jhoel Sarraude scoring the game winner in the 83rd minute to win 2-1. Sarraude’s 15th goal of the season would keep the Ospreys undefeated on the season.
The Ospreys (7-0-2, 5-0-2) were looking to keep their unbeaten streak alive when they traveled to Lane (1-6-2, 1-4-2). The challenge got harder when Lane scored in the 12th minute to put them down 1-0. Jose Gallegos would score the equalizer for the Ospreys in the 26th minute and the 1-1 score would hold until the half.
In the second half, the Ospreys increased their offensive pressure and in the 83rd minute Jhoel Sarraude would score his 15th goal of the season and the game winner as the match would end with a 2-1 victory remaining undefeated on the year.
There were six yellow cards issued during the match: Josue Reyes (35’), Lane (15th, 21st, 43rd, 58th, & 71st).
The Ospreys are home for their next match when they host Chemeketa Community College ( ) Saturday October 16th at 4:30pm at US Cellular Community Park Field 14. The matchup is for first place in the South Region with two games remaining. The Ospreys are currently in 2nd place in the South Region and ranked 4th overall in the NWAC coach poll.
