Upset! Ospreys are Final Four Bound with 2-1 Win

GRANTS PASS – The Rogue Community College Ospreys Men’s Soccer was on the road for the NWAC Elite 8 facing the number one ranked Peninsula College on Saturday November 6th. The Ospreys capitalized on two first half goals, holding strong in the second, to win 2-1 and advance to the Final Four for the first time in program history.

The Ospreys (10-2-2, 6-2-2) were in territory they have never been before as they took on Peninsula (15-1-1, 12-0-1) in the NWAC Elite 8. In the 10th minute Zach Olson would drop in ball that found the net to put the Ospreys up 1-0. In the 25th minute Jhoel Sarraude took the ball off the midfielder, played it through the back line to a racing Rosendo Juarez Flores who went and shot it past the keep to go up 2-0.

The would come out in the second half looking to hold onto the win. In the 72nd minute Peninsula would find the net closing the gap but the Ospreys defense held on and upset the number one ranked Peninsula 2-1 advancing to the NWAC Final Four for the first time in program history.

The Ospreys will be playing Friday November 12th at 11:00am at Starfire Complex in Seattle WA. They will face the winner of Columbia Basin (10-4-2, 9-1-2) vs. Highline (11-5-0, 8-5).
